A(nother) Night at the Opera
The Evening
The evening starts with a glass of hot mull. The Concert is divided into two halves of about an hour each with an interval of a little over an hour - time enough for a three course Supper to be served. The whole provides a full evening's entertainment that finishes at about 11.00pm.
The Singing
A selection of well-loved aria from some of the most popular Operas, songs from the Shows and a sprinkling of Seasonal items. Some duets and ensemble singing amidst a number of solos. Some extremely popular favourites re-appear time and again (how long we can keep repeating them only time will show). Each year has its own riches but the programme should be full of interesting surprises. One thing of which we can be sure is that the wonderful acoustic of the Hall will be used to the full.
The Singers
The Singers until recently performed as members of Suffolk Opera but have now branched out on their own. This will be the sixth year that they have sung at Kentwell at Christmas. On each visit they have made the rafters ring. They have also been soloists at our Last Night of the Proms Open Air Summer Concerts.
The Supper
A three course festive meal in the Undercroft (or for an extra £10 in the Parlour lined with Tudor portraits below the Breughel Painted Celiing).
Wine
We shall have some very drinkable wine for sale at £10 a bottle.
Tickets
All tickets include a three course supper during the Interval which will be in our Undercroft.
Your may prefer to eat in our Parlour by purchasing the Parlour Supplement at £10.00 each.
