Scaresville - The Haunted Village
Scaresville '09
You've missed Scaresville '08 to which the above refers. 2008 was our first full year. Although, we tried out the concept in a small way in 2007. The response we have had has been fantastic:-
"Fantastic fun despite the very wet weather ...look forward to
next years maybe it will more scarey."
"WOW! I went last night with two of my girl friends and one of their mums,
we're all aged 19 + and have never been so scared! .....FANTASTIC idea and a really good adrenaline
rush....cant wait to see what you do next year"
"Scaresville Wind it Up ! Brilliant night last night - although personally more worried about
slipping over in the mud running away...
We'll be back next year - can't wait."
"Thanks for scaring us ! We had a brilliant time at Scaresville, it was quite scary but so much
fun. We didn’t really know what to expect and didn’t expect to enjoy it
as much as we did. ... Now I am
trying to convince my parents to go with their friends but it might not
be until next year, I’m sure we’ll join them."
"Our party of 4 (3 adults, 1 11 year old) attended on Saturday night
25th October. We had a marvellous time, alternately screaming and
laughing. We all want to do it again next year!"
"Oh My God how good was that! i have never had such a scary experience
but really good fun. I was more scared than the children. Please go i
recommend it."
We now have almost 12 months to devise even more ingenious, unusual and inventive scares and to wind up some of the more obvious ones. Will it be scarier ? Well, some parts we could scarcely make any scarier but others we shall try to wind up a little. As to any new scares ....... Planning has already started and our wicked brains are already at work.
We shall open bookings during the late summer. If you want to be advised when bookings open join our newsletter and we will inform you of when bookings open, you can then book on-line or by telephone
We shall, of course, post information here as to when bookings will open.
The Dates for Scaresville '09 are Friday 16th October to Sunday 1 November with Halloween itself falling on Saturday 31st. The 31st is likely to prove a very busy night for which early booking will be essential. We have limited numbers in each time slot each night to try to give everyone an equally scary time.
Scaresville is not for the squeamish, pregnant or faint-hearted (or those of a sensitive disposition or young children)
You have been warned ! Do you Dare ?
What will the Visitor experience ?
We are not going to tell you ! That would spoil the surprises. But it will be dark with the possibility of surprise in every room in every building, at every corner, every tree and every bush.We use the natural resources Kentwell offers in farm buildings, open space, woods and gardens to maximum scary effect.
The Weather
Kentwell folk are hardy. We continue whatever the weather believing in the old saying "There's no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing" and we would add 'inappropriate footwear'. Dress for the weather you expect.
What to bring: Low power torch (not a searchlight equivalent), stout footwear and waterproof (NO umbrellas, please) if needed as much outside.
The House will not be Open at this time.
Tickets
Entrance will be limited so it is necessary to book. Hallowe'en night itself and the nights immediately preceding may prove especially popular. You may book on-line up to 6.00pm on the night of your visit. Children (i.e. those under 16) MUST be accompanied by an Adult.
Entry Times
Every day we split entry into different time bands to control numbers. Small groups then enter the Experience, one group at a time, with short intervals between groups. Larger parties do best to split into smaller groups of about half a dozen best to enjoy the fullforce of the experience. The Experience usually lasts somewhere between about 45 minutes and about an hour.
