The Last Tudor Re-Creation of the Year

Tudors cookingMichaelmas

This was a most important time for folk in Tudor times because it was usually the time to celebrate a good harvest (they hoped) having been brought safely in. This was vital as without a good harvest safely gathered some might starve by early spring.

The Michaelmas Re-Creation

This is a smaller version of the Great Annual Re-Creation. Although it has fewer Tudors taking part and less activities, there is usually a good spread of each.

It carries through as many of the Great Annual Re-Creation's themes and activities as possible. We usually expect about 60 to 100 Tudors to take part. There is usually some activity on the Front Sward, in the House, much in the Moat House and some in the Gardens & Farm areas.

Many visitors tell us they prefer the more intimate nature of this Event which often has almost as wide a spread of activities as the Great Annual.

There is no Time Tunnel.
